247Sports player page mocks

Part of my day to day responsibilities allow me to work with the incredible designer Dave Lester (DML). I’ve worked with Dave since the original Rivals.com in Seattle, Wash. During this time no one has had a larger impact on the look and feel of recruiting network sites than Dave.

Our current project is preparation for a new look for the 247Sports player pages (current sample: Andrew Brown) that we’ll look to launch in mid-2014. My main goal for this project is to enhance the visual display of the upper half of the player page graphically when we had the assets to make it happen (a cool large horizontal photo). I also want to make the key factors stand out a little more (rating, rank, commitment, the Crystal Ball success).

Dave’s first mocks in the gallery below take a stab at the visual impact, rating and rank. His next batch of mocks will attack the commitment and Crystal Ball success while updating these mocks to adjust for college players and players with a long name, city or school (to ensure the text doesn’t wrap and if it does it looks nice).  Click below to take a look at the exploratory mocks and tell me what you think.
